Mermaids are Real

A Photo Exhibit

Mermaids International has a collection of some of the most beautiful mermaid photos you could ever imagine. This unique collection was shown at the Arts Council Gallery in Queens Park, New Westminster. Full-size photographs as well as smaller prints were for sale. Also on sale was their book The Pink Mermaid and Other Tails -- perfect for kids.

The opening reception included a mini-concert with music and stories about merfolk -- haunting and magical. The concert featured Celtic harpist Lori Pappajohn, percussionist and violist Bruce Henczel and narrator Alan Woodland.

On weekends children could have their photo taken with a real live mermaid.

Mermaids Are Real: A Photo Exhibit features mermaids Annette Johnston and Lori Pappajohn who travel to Hawaii each year to work with some of the island's top photographers, capturing stunningly-beautiful images underwater and on the shore. In addition, each August they shoot in English Bay and Howe Sound, capturing mermaids in gorgeous West Coast settings. Close to 1,000 people visited their exhibit.
